The Benefits
Work Together
The Sidcup Partners BID will be a robust collective of businesses that share common constraints and challenges; it will be a voice for over 400 businesses. This means that each of the businesses, regardless of size or offer, will have their say on all commercial issues in the area and will be part of the decision making processes through the BID Committee. The Sidcup Partners BID will:
- Promote Sidcup and its mixture of offers which include the dynamic dining offers, the schools and education institutes, shops and leisure facilities
- Work with community organisations to host events in Sidcup
- The Sidcup Partners BID will aim to put on 4 events which reflect and capture the local culture and current creative institutions adding footfall and raising the profile of the area
- Seek to protect all businesses from disproportionate and adverse levels of competition in the area. Work closely with landlords, letting agents, the Local Authority and retail consultants to introduce complimentary business offers that add value rather than detract the quality of shoppers’ experience and undermine the viability of existing established businesses
- Seek to create savings for businesses through joint buying power and procurement, ensuring rate payers get the best possible deals as a collective
- Seek to work with the Local Authority and any other public sector organisations to represent the interests and concerns of the levy payers
- Source additional investment from new areas such as grant funding and sponsorship
- Seek to work with the Local Authority to manage issues such as parking availability, parking costs or anything seen as a restriction to attracting more potential customers
- Host informal quarterly meetings which encourage the sharing of commercial ideas and solutions
- Provide formal workshops and Q&A sessions, updating the commercial community on market trends and offering tailored business support through the BID Manager
- Explore ways to include community groups in activities and events

Important Information
A deep clean and jet wash of the footways in Sidcup High Street is taking place starting on 26th September between the ours of 19.00hrs and Midnight. The works are likely to take eighteen nights to complete.
A deep clean such as this is an example of what a successful BID in Sidcup could achieve on a regular basis by complimenting the councils standard cleaning regime with an enhanced schedule.
"A Sidcup BID will pay dividends for the College through our student recruitment and local and regional engagement strategies and we hope that the College will, in turn, help the development of local retail, accommodation and leisure sectors."
